The play was created and first staged by NTU's graduate students in 2003. The story takes place in a psychiatric hospital where doctors and patients stage Hamlet together as treatment. Shakespeare is the background music against which doctors and patients interact and debate about life. This revision adopts an intercultural approach. The production involves locals and internationals in cast and crew, and also uses performance styles from various cultures.
